The challenge
The Oud Geleerd Jong Gedaan foundation connects students with seniors through interactive lectures. With digitalisation and the aftermath of COVID-19, the need grew for an online alternative that feels as personal and interactive as an in-person lecture. The target audience — mainly people aged 65 and over — demands exceptional ease of use. At the same time, the platform needed a flexible payment model fitting the foundation's social mission.
Our solution
We built a fully online lecture platform centred around Jitsi for live video interaction. Seniors can browse a lecture catalogue, register, and join with a single click — no software installation required. The pay-what-you-can system lets participants decide their own contribution, with the option for anonymous donations. A custom CMS enables the OGJG team to independently manage lecture offerings, instructors, and schedules. The interface was deliberately designed to be large, clear, and minimalist for maximum accessibility.
