When is custom software smarter than Excel or a standard package?
When only Jan still understands the file, when customers keep calling for status, or when your process does not fit any package. Then a portal or integration is usually cheaper than another year of manual work. In the first call we also say so if an existing package is enough.
What does it cost to have a web application built?
A bounded internal tool or small portal often starts around 15,000 to 30,000 euros. A platform with roles, customer login and integrations usually sits between 40,000 and 90,000 euros. You do not get an open end: version one on paper first, then a price for that block.
