SolarFast - New website and SEO for owned leads

SolarFast - New website and SEO for owned leads

About this project

A completely new website for Solar Fast: from a Webflow site that produced few organic enquiries to a Next.js platform with product pages, a knowledge base, and lead forms that land straight in their sales system. Alongside the build we handle technical SEO and conversion tracking, so it is clear which channel produces which enquiry.

The challenge

Solar Fast is a large installer, but little of that was visible online. The old Webflow site barely ranked for the questions customers start their search with, so most enquiries had to be bought from lead vendors. That is expensive and it builds no position of your own. At the same time the market is shifting fast: the Dutch net-metering scheme ends on 1 January 2027, so homeowners are working out right now what a home battery would save them. The site had to be ready at exactly that moment, with pages that genuinely answer those questions and enquiries that reach the sales system without manual work.

Our solution

We rebuilt the site in Next.js, in Dutch and English, around four products: solar panels, home battery, heat pump, and EV charger. Alongside it sits a knowledge base explaining the terms people search for, from net metering and watt-peak to kWh and feed-in costs, with internal links to the matching product page. For the business side there are dedicated propositions for housing corporations and property investors. Every form posts the enquiry to 2Solar through its API, with a separate source per form so each lead can be traced back, plus a notification to the right mailbox. Conversion tracking for GA4 and Google Ads is fixed in code and enforced by a test that fails as soon as a form misses its instrumentation. On the SEO side every page was reviewed: unique titles and descriptions, structured data for services and FAQs, breadcrumbs, hreflang between both languages, and substantive expansion of pages that were too thin.

Results

New site in Next.js with a Dutch and English version, replacing the old Webflow setup

Knowledge base covering the search questions around smart home energy, linking through to the product pages

All lead forms connected to 2Solar, with a separate source per form for attribution

Dedicated propositions for housing corporations and property investors alongside the consumer pages

GA4 and Google Ads conversions enforced by a test, so a new form cannot silently skip tracking

Cache purge and an asset check after every release prevent failures that would otherwise go unnoticed for days

Key features

Knowledge base that covers the search demand

Articles on net metering, watt-peak, kWh, feed-in costs, and more, explained in plain language with a link to the product the question relates to.

Four-step savings check

Visitors enter their home situation and consumption and get a first estimate of their savings. The submitted details travel along as context into the sales conversation.

Lead integration with 2Solar

Enquiries go straight into the sales system through the API, with a dedicated key and source per form so every channel can be judged separately.

Propositions for business segments

Dedicated pages for housing corporations and property investors, covering the approach, project phases, and the questions that come with large-scale retrofits.

Tracking that cannot silently break

The conversion calls for GA4 and Google Ads are fixed in code, and a test blocks a release as soon as a lead or contact form misses that tracking.
