The challenge
Freelancers and small software teams juggle a patchwork of tools daily: quotes in Google Docs, tickets in Jira, time tracking in a spreadsheet, invoices in Moneybird. Each tool requires manual input, context is lost at every handoff, and administrative tasks consume hours each week that cannot be billed. The question was: can the entire journey from client conversation to payment run in a single platform, powered by AI?
Our solution
We built Refront from the ground up as a fully integrated SaaS platform. At its core is an AI engine that analyses meeting notes and emails, then automatically generates professional quotes with hour estimates. Once the client approves, quote lines are split into actionable tickets. Through the Cursor MCP integration, the AI can even solve tickets by writing code. Logged hours automatically flow into invoices, which are sent in one click via Stripe. The platform also provides a financial dashboard with balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and automated VAT filing with the Dutch tax authority.
