Looking for SEO in Haarlem that goes beyond copywriting? MG Software fixes the foundations: fast pages, correct indexing, structured data and scalable content architecture.
This is not a jobs page. We are an SEO agency and consultant in Haarlem: developers who implement the changes ourselves, tested on our own site before you get them.
Crawlability, redirects, canonicals, sitemaps and indexing reviewed and fixed.
Core Web Vitals
Improve LCP, INP and CLS at code level, measured with real-user data.
Structured data
Schema.org markup for rich results: FAQ, Product, Service and Article.
Content architecture
Internal links, topic clusters and URL hierarchy that strengthen your key pages.
Programmatic SEO
Scalable content models when they fit: location pages, comparisons, guides.
Monitoring & reporting
Search Console and crawl stats tied to KPIs, reported monthly.
Our SEO process
A good SEO engagement does not start with writing content, but with understanding where the opportunities are and what technical foundation is needed.
01
Intake
Goals, audience, competitors and current performance. Where do you want to be in six months?
02
Audit
Technical review of crawlability, indexing, performance and internal links. Result: a list of opportunities sorted by impact.
03
Implementation
We implement the changes ourselves: meta tags, schema markup, redirects, sitemaps and rendering. No report left for you to execute.
04
Content optimisation
Strengthen existing pages with better titles, deeper answers and internal links. New content only when search intent is clear.
05
Monitoring
Monthly reporting on positions, crawl stats and organic traffic, so we can adjust course in time.
What does SEO cost?
A technical audit with a concrete action plan is a fixed engagement of one to two weeks. After that we work monthly on implementation and content, at a scope that fits your market and competition.
No annual contracts and no fixed packages you do not need. We first discuss what is going on, then put together a proposal with scope and expected timeline.

What exactly is technical SEO?
Technical SEO covers everything that determines whether search engines can reach, understand and quickly serve your site, regardless of how good your copy is. Concretely: crawlability and indexing (robots.txt, sitemaps, canonicals, no pages accidentally falling out of the index), Core Web Vitals and mobile load behaviour, structured data so Google understands what a page describes, an internal link structure that makes your most important pages reachable, and clean redirects so accumulated value does not vanish during a migration. It is the foundation: without it content returns less than it deserves, and with only a foundation there is little to rank for.
Why MG Software rather than a classic SEO agency?
Because we also implement. Most recommendations coming out of an audit are not copy changes but interventions in code and infrastructure: server-side rendering, caching, image formats, layout shift, JSON-LD, redirect rules, sitemap generation. With an advice-only agency that report lands with your development partner and part of it disappears into a queue. We build web applications daily, so we write the change ourselves, test it and measure the effect. Our own site is the example: the same approach, publicly verifiable. If you have an in-house development team, we deliver tickets they can pick up directly instead of recommendations that still need translating.
Is your SEO work limited to Haarlem?
No. Most of our SEO engagements come from companies outside the region, because technical SEO happens mainly in your codebase, Search Console and analytics. That needs no office visit: read access to your measurement data and access to the repository or your development partner is enough to ship changes and measure the effect. What our location does add is a working afternoon on site when marketing and development have to choose priorities together; for companies in Haarlem and Kennemerland we schedule that easily. If what you want is visibility in the region itself, that is local SEO and it works differently; you can read more about it further down. What we do not do is claim an address in every city to rank locally; that is exactly the kind of construction Google filters out increasingly well.
How do you measure results?
We agree upfront which numbers count and where they come from. Search Console for impressions, clicks, average positions and index coverage, with extra attention to pages sitting just outside the top ten because that is where the fastest gains are. Analytics for what visitors do next: enquiries, phone calls, submitted forms. Core Web Vitals from field data, not just a lab score at one moment. And crawl statistics to see whether search engines spend their time on your important pages or on filters and variants. Reporting is monthly and also names what did not work, because without that an SEO report is a sales document.
Do you handle content or only technical work?
We do content, but not as standalone copy production. First we settle structure: which topics deserve their own page, what belongs under which parent page, and how those pages link to each other. Without that information architecture you get pages competing for the same keyword and you dilute your own authority. After that we write, or we deliver briefs, templates and editing so your own people can produce volume; they know the trade and the customer questions better than we do. What we guard is intent (does the page match what someone actually searches for), depth, and that the text sits in the initial HTML and is therefore visible to search engines.
How do I request an SEO audit?
Send us your domain, the keywords or markets that matter to you and what you are running into via /contact. It helps to arrange temporary read access to Search Console and analytics right away, so we work on your own data instead of estimates. Within a few working days you get a proposal with scope, timeline and price. The audit delivers a prioritised list of findings, with expected impact and required effort per item, plus a call in which we walk through it. You then decide whether your own team implements it or we do.
How quickly will I see SEO results?
Technical improvements show up fastest: resolved crawl errors, better Core Web Vitals and repaired indexing often feed through into impressions within two to four months. Positions on commercially interesting keywords typically move in three to six months, and longer with strong competition. New pages first need time to be indexed and assessed. In the first weeks we can show measurable intermediate steps: falling load times, fewer errors in Search Console, more pages correctly indexed. If a party promises a top position on a competitive keyword within weeks, that is a reason for scepticism.
What does outsourcing SEO cost?
We work with a scope and a price per engagement instead of a monthly fee without substance. A one-off technical audit is a bounded assignment with a fixed price; ongoing support we agree as a number of hours per month, with it clear upfront what happens in those hours: implementation, monitoring, content guidance and reporting. Each month you see where those hours went. That is deliberately different from the usual monthly package where you cannot verify what was done. The size of your site and the height of your ambition together set the level; what fits we discuss in a short call.
What is the difference between technical SEO and content SEO?
Technical SEO determines whether a page can be found, loaded and understood; content SEO determines whether that page is the answer someone was looking for. They also fail differently: a technical problem keeps good pages invisible, a content problem means visible pages produce no click or enquiry. In practice we start with technology and structure, because content work then returns more per page written. There is a third layer that is often forgotten: internal linking. It is partly technical and partly editorial, and it decides which pages a search engine considers your most important.
Do you also do link building?
We do not sell link packages. Bought links are exactly the kind of signal Google acts on more harshly every year, and the risk sits with you rather than the seller. What we do is make sure your site is worth linking to and distributes the value it already has: strong reference pages, cases customers want to share, and internal links that route authority to your commercial pages. Mentions from clients, partners, trade associations and local initiatives usually return more than purchased placements. If you want a dedicated campaign, we refer you to specialists who do it cleanly and we keep handling the technical side.
Can you help with Google Ads alongside SEO?
We do not run ads ourselves. We do think along about how the two connect, because they help each other: keyword data from campaigns shows which terms actually produce enquiries, which is valuable input for your content plan, while ads make sense to hold traffic on terms where growing organically takes months. It also touches the technical side: landing pages that load fast and convert well improve both your quality score and your organic performance. For setting up and managing campaigns we refer you to an Ads specialist and collaborate with them happily.
How do I know whether my current SEO agency is doing good work?
Ask three things. Which concrete changes were implemented in recent months, not which activities were performed. What the effect is in Search Console on impressions, positions and index coverage, with your own access so you can check it yourself. And why those choices, because a good agency explains a trade-off instead of listing tasks. Warning signs: reports with only visitor numbers, presenting rankings on your brand name as success, no access to your own accounts, and recommendations that never get implemented because they sit with the developer. If you are unsure, we give a second opinion based on a short audit.
How does local SEO work for Haarlem and the surrounding region?
For companies drawing customers from Haarlem, Heemstede, Bloemendaal, Velsen or Haarlemmermeer, much of the gain comes from map results rather than classic rankings. That requires a complete and current Google Business Profile with the right categories, opening hours and photos, consistent details across all listings, genuine reviews without tricks, and pages on the site that match what people in the region search for, instead of thirty pages with only the place name swapped. LocalBusiness structured data and an easily findable address help too. A visitor searching on a phone who needs three taps to call you is lost.
Which SEO problems do you fix most often?
The recurring list: pages that only reveal content after JavaScript execution, slow mobile load times from oversized images and too many scripts, layout shift from banners and fonts, duplicate content through filters and parameters without canonicals, redirect chains and orphaned 404s after a migration, missing or incorrect structured data, titles and meta descriptions that are truncated or all read the same, a sitemap containing pages that should not be indexed, and a menu where important pages sit five clicks deep. None of these is spectacular; together they often decide the difference between page two and page one.
SEO agency Haarlem or SEO consultant: what is the difference?
In practice companies searching both terms want the same thing: someone in Haarlem who makes their site easier to find, not a mid-level or senior specialist for an internal vacancy. An SEO consultant is often one point of contact for audit and advice; an SEO agency promises a team. At MG Software you get the former: a fixed pair of developers who change the technical work themselves, plus content structure. No layer of account managers. If you want SEO Haarlem for your business, a path with intake, audit and implementation fits. If you are looking for a job in Haarlem, this is the wrong page.
