About this project
FIPS is a procurement portal that simplifies and streamlines the process of ordering and managing flower and plant arrangements.
The challenge
Bloominess provides flower and plant arrangements for business clients across the Netherlands. The procurement process was largely manual: orders via email and phone, inventory management in spreadsheets, and invoicing that fell behind. With a growing client base and seasonal peaks, this workflow became unsustainable. They needed a central system to digitalise the entire journey from order to delivery.
The approach
We developed FIPS (Floral Integrated Procurement System), a custom-built B2B procurement portal. The platform enables clients to configure and order arrangements online, while Bloominess gets real-time visibility into orders, stock levels, and delivery scheduling. The system integrates with external suppliers for automatic price updates and availability checks. A built-in dashboard provides management reports on revenue, popular products, and client behaviour.
Outcome
- Fully digitalised ordering process replaces email and phone orders
- Real-time inventory overview connected to external suppliers
- Average order processing time reduced from hours to minutes
- Management dashboard with revenue reports and client insights
- 4 years of continued development with steady growth in user adoption
